A murder mystery party is a type of event where the host chooses a theme and invites their guests to come dressed in costume according to their character description or the era. The attendees will all work together to solve a fictitious crime that has occured with the help of a lead detective and the guests are the suspects. Murder mystery parties are often compared to a live version of the popular boardgame Clue. This type of party can be hosted virtually on Zoom or in person at someone's home, an office, a restaurant, or private event space.

Our games take about 1-2 hours, depending on your group size. We recommend estimating 10 minutes per player, so if you have 6 people playing, we recommend estimating 60 minutes.
If you are playing in person we provide “Who Did It Slips” and you’re able to pull these cards from a hat to randomly assign the killer at the start of the game.
If you’re playing virtually, we created our own random assigner HERE! Each player will receive their assignment secretly by email.
All of our murder mystery parties include 20 scripted characters, and we recommend playing with 3-20 players. All 20 roles have full motives and ANY of the characters could be the murderer.
You can also play with more than 20 players by adding guests as “detectives” who participate by asking questions each round and guessing who the killer is at the end.
Our games are designed to be flexible because we understand that sometimes people cancel last minute or you may want to add players too!
The rules are all fleshed out for in-person and virtual play HERE.
You bet! We created a whole new set of rules and instructions to be able to play via video chat that are included in each game. You can read the virtual instructions HERE.
Our games are meant to be played in-person or virtually and can be self-hosted.
We do also offer our hosting party packages for groups that prefer a full-service murder mystery experience. You can learn more and submit a party request HERE.
You will receive all the files needed to host and run your murder mystery party as a digital download. You’ll then be able to easily print the files and play as many times as you like! The files include a host guide, virtual host guide, 20 character scripts, a question menu, evidence files, evidence booklet, evidence videos narrated by Broadway actors, spotify playlist, zoom backgrounds, and more!

Absolutely! We’ve created all our games to be played over and over again, because the murderer always changes! Use your “Who Did It Slips” to assign a new murderer each time you play!
We recommend that most of our mysteries be played by people ages 13+. There is an age rating on each of our mystery game pages and we do have "family friendly" games appropriate for ages 10+.

Broadway Murder Mysteries, where YOU are the show! Broadway Murder Mysteries was created in March of 2020 when many Broadway performers, writers, and talent were out of work. The Broadway shut down had a huge impact on the theater community, and Broadway Murder Mysteries was created to give jobs to out of work talent, while creating something inherently theatrical that theater and mystery fans would love.
